Silvertel continues to lead the way with the launch of it’s smallest PSE Module yet – the Ag6130
Design of Power over Ethernet (PoE) Power Sourcing Equipment (PSE) applications, Midspan or Endspan switches and injectors has just become much easier with Silvertel’s launch of the Ag6130, single-port PSE module.
The Ag6130 is a single channel, IEEE802.3.af, .at and .bt* compliant PSE module providing up to 75W over 2-pairs of Ethernet cable. It can be deployed where PoE, PoE+ and UPoE (proprietary) power levels are required for Ethernet powering.

Measuring only 21mm (L) x 14mm (W) x 5mm (H), and the width of a standard RJ45 Port connector, this device can be used in single-port or multi-port systems, squeezing the most out of the available space. The Ag6130 is aimed at applications such as professional AV, media converters, security systems, CCTV DVR, home networking, automation and IIoT where ease of implementation, simplicity of use and space-efficient design is essential.
The Ag6130 is a compact, surface mount module with block terminals, available in 500-piece tape & reel format for volume manufacture. The interconnect format allows close thermal coupling to the host PCB. Requiring very few additional components to configure the product, implementation is quick and very straight-forward.
The Ag6130 provides signature recognition and control, essential for a PSE module, allowing for the PoE negotiation process to be initiated and controlled. The output can be disabled using the OPTION input which has the ability to effectively disconnection the port output, isolating the PSE module from the connected Powered Device (PD). Reconnection of the module will initiate restart of the PoE negotiation process.
The module is rated over the industrial temperature range and protected from output overload and output short circuit conditions. The STATUS output is used to determine the connection status of the Ag6130.
Designed and manufactured in the UK, and fully RoHS compliant, the Ag6130 complements Silvertel’s extensive range of low cost, compact but highly featured power management modules.
Product is available now from all Silvertel distributors, and an easy to use, Evaluation board – EvalAg6130 – can also be purchased to help design engineers make a thorough assessment of the device without the need to commit to design resource and prototyping. Silvertel also manufactures a range of isolated boost converters to help generate the 48V – 57V needed for any PSE design.
